Top Must Haves:
  • 80% field work / 20% office. This is not a desk job.
  • Must pass BGI (7yrs), clean driving record (>3 tix past 3yrs), & valid DL
  • 5+ years in project leadership with strong knowledge of low voltage and security systems (equipment, service, and installation).
  • Previous commercial or industrial experience background.
  • (DCJS) license / registration or the ability to obtain after conversion (paid by client)
  • Schedule: M-F (7a-5p) – 50hr weeks (10hr OT) this is project focused / depending on demand.
  • On call monthly rotation after conversion
  • Per diem = $30 & $50 for any overnight stay (hotels / expenses paid by client)

Position Title: Project Manager
Location: Petersburg, VA 23803
Position Status: 6-month contract to permanent
Pay Rate: $40-47/hr + Health Benefits
Conversion Salary: $85-100K + Full Benefits Package

Responsibilities:
  • 80% field work / 20% office. This is not a desk job.
  • It’s your call on whether you decide to stay overnight. You will be assigned several projects and be expected to lead the installation teams to ensure the projects are on time, under budget, correct, and safe. 
  • Lead 10-12 technicians, managing their schedules, and successful delivery of service for Access Control, CCTV, and perimeter detection projects, while reporting to our Director of Operations. 
  • Serve as the liaison between Elite and the customer on all active projects.
  • Review project documentation submitted by the sales team and review with technicians to deploy effectively.
  • Track project progress and report to Operations Management on a weekly basis.
  • Complete all work within outlined time frame and meet all customer deadlines.
  • Coordinate ordering and staging of all equipment with warehouse manager for timely deployment.
  • Advise the sales team of any change order activity so it can be quoted to the customer.
  • Attend field and internal project management meetings as needed.
  • Confirm that all customers are satisfied with our work upon project completion and notify financial team to generate the final billing.
  • Provide post-project reporting on completion within budget and margin goals.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crawl.
  • Must be able to see color to discern plans.
  • Must be able to work Monday – Friday 7:00AM – 5:00PM; additional work may be required.
  • Must possess and maintain a satisfactory background record.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in project leadership with strong knowledge of low voltage and security systems (equipment, service, and installation).
  • Current DCJS Registration or ability to obtain is required.
  • An analytical mind with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable scheduling and time management experience.
  • Leadership skills to effectively coach, guide, and motivate your team.
  • Being able to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies 
  • Outstanding organizational, logistics, and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills 
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record 
  • Previous construction project management is a plus
