Morton has an immediate need for a Procurement Analyst with one of our customers located in Richmond, Virginia.   The ideal candidate will come with 2 or more years of expeirence in finance, accounting, supplier management, strategic sourcing, and / or category management.  

Responsibilities:
 
  • Negotiating and processing low to mid complex renewals and Statements of Work (SOW’ s), including the creation of PO’ s
  • Assisting with supplier issue resolution
  • Ensuring adherence with Procurement Governance
  • Fostering relationships with internal customers and external supplier partners
  • Provides strong analytical support to the Procurement team to pursue a wide variety of opportunities while improving procurement business efficiency and effectiveness
  • Uses data visualization tools to help inform procurement efforts and drive positive outcomes
  • Connects the dots between what the business is trying to accomplish and how procurement can support these efforts
  • Maintains technical proficiency in those solutions required to support the procurement function (e.g.; Contract management, Document approval and procure-to-pay solutions, supplier portals, and invoice processing solutions)
  • Assists the business stakeholders with navigating though the Global procurement processes
  • Maintains a process improvement mindset and presents team with better ways to accomplish tasks
  • Provide detailed review of supplier contracts in order to meet business needs and mitigate risk to our customer
  • Clearly and confidently articulate potential risks, benefits, costs, and comparisons of contracts to Procurement Managers and business partners.
  • Process and manage purchase orders and resolve invoice inquiries
  • General procurement administration as and when required

Qualifications:
 
  • BA/BS degree in business, procurement, finance or related field
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, supplier management, strategic sourcing, category management, or data analytics
  • Achieves business results consistently
  • Adaptive to a fast paced, changing organization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Builds strong internal and external relationships
  • Maintains a level of technology proficiency
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to turn data into information even when details are ambiguous
  • Strong customer relationship skills
  • Effective in working with cross-functional teams/partnerships. Thinks and acts in terms of what is best for the team
